It is rumoured of a collection edition for GTA VI following the disappointment caused by the preorders of the physical version of the game. As reported, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, while minimizing the importance of the records, did not exclude the possibility of a physical component for the title. The controversy over the preorders, which did not meet the expectations of fans in search of tangible bonuses, gave rise to new voices on a collector’s edition that could be made available before the game’s release. Currently, players can opt for the standard edition with code included or for digital purchase via Xbox Store or PlayStation Store, the latter included in additional content. According to the saintjules user of the NeoGaf forum, during a discussion on the extended preview of GTA 6 on Netflix (of 27 August), the possibility of a third edition still unannounced, justified by the duration of the trailer («a good occasion») emerged. The author then suggested that clothing, like a hooded sweatshirt, could be part of a collection edition, in line with Rockstar’s desire to reproduce real world brands in GTA Online. The confirmation came also by the user HeisenbergFX4, known for his indiscretions on the PS6, laptop console, which confirmed the existence of this third option, despite the doubts about the utility of the disks expressed by Zelnick during the conference call on the financial results of August 7. The managing director highlighted 90% of Take-Two’s activity, which is digital, claiming that the records “do not really make sense to the consumer”. There are therefore uncertainties about the actual realization of a collection edition, but speculation is also fueled by the hypotheses of more than two versions of product previously advanced by professionals.
