The map of GTA VI will reach epic dimensions, almost twice the size of GTA 5, thanks to a dynamic weather system that will include hurricanes and storms. The information comes from Game Informer, where Rockstar managers explained how the new setting, called Leonida, will be designed to be more extensive, realistic and detailed than the previous chapters of the saga. The heart of change is represented by the weather. The player will experience dramatic weather variations, from serene skies to intense rains, tropical storms and even hurricanes, with direct consequences on the surrounding environment. The clouds will be completely dynamic, persistent phenomena and localized rainfall: during storms, the water will flow from roofs and lampposts, illuminating the clouds. Leonida will be divided into six Florida-inspired regions, offering a mix of environments: * Vice City, the main urban center, inspired by Miami. * Leonida Keys, a Florida Keys reinterpretation. * Grassrivers, a vast swampy region shaped on the Everglades. * Port Gellhorn, characterized by economic motels and shopping centers in decline. * Ambrosia, industrial heart of the state, dominated by a band of bikers. * Mount Kalaga National Park, natural area located in the northern part of the map. In addition to the size, Rockstar will pay special attention to the density of buildings and the amount of exploratable interiors, curating roofs, alleys and enclosed spaces to create coherent environments and not only a simple background. The island of Leonida will host more than 170 animal species, including about 60 varieties of birds, 30 terrestrial mammals and numerous marine creatures such as sharks, whales and jellyfish. The player can engage in activities such as diving, kayaking, minigolf, billiards, gyms, road and off-road racing, water bikes and base jumping. GTA VI, with output set for 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, promises an immersive and dynamic gaming experience, thanks to a constantly evolving environment under the influence of the weather.
