GTA VI: Download Size on PS5 – 210 GB They are creating Panic among Fans

After the first indiscretions on the size envisaged for the installation of Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation 5 (about 210 GB), the network was invaded by a heated debate. Console owners began to calculate the storage space needed before release, while some are already preparing to delete other titles from their catalog. The situation appears particularly critical for Xbox Series S owners with a 512 GB накопиtore: after subtracting the space occupied by system files, they would remain less than 400 GB, making GTA VI potentially able to occupy more than half of the available space. A user expressed concern that GTA VI would force him to delete almost all his library of games installed, while another one speculated that he had to renounce Red Dead Redemption 2. Despite this, part of the audience appears more relaxed, stressing that GTA VI does not intend to simultaneously hold numerous other titles on its console. The reaction of users was not exclusively negative. Many have admitted to expect a volume of about 300-400 GB and consider 210 GB a relatively low value for a game of that magnitude. There has also been a lively debate on data compression methods used by Rockstar Games. Fans stress that a large volume of installation does not necessarily mean poor optimization: modern productions can store part of the resources with a lower compression to accelerate loading from SSDs and reduce decoding costs. Others believe that the current 210 GB are mainly due to the high amount of textures, models and high resolution audio files. At the moment, the figure of 210 GB remains unofficial. In addition, the final sizing may vary after installation and eventual release day patch, so Rockstar Games' final requirements will still be defined.
