Rockstar aims at Jailbreak on PS5 for GTA VI – New Firmware Requirement

Rockstar could impose a firmware requirement to prevent the use of jailbreak on PlayStation 5 with GTA VI, as reported by Gametimers. The move is a direct response to the growing spread of jailbreaks, which allows players to change the game and bypass anti-piracy measures. If confirmed, this requirement would represent a significant change compared to previous releases of the series, where the use of jailbreak was widely tolerated. This is a strategy aimed at protecting the monetization of the game and ensuring that paying players are not disadvantaged by those who use unauthorized changes. The requirement could cover a specific version of the PS5 firmware, making it harder for users to install jailbreaks.
