CyberLeek and the Meme Coin Boom: New GTA VI Leak Tests and Legal Countermeasures
The meme coin CYBERLEEK recorded a 1,400% surge in just 24 hours, fueled by the controversy regarding the releases of news on the playable build of Grand Theft Auto VI. CyberLeek, however, was denied by a fact-check that revealed the manufactured origin of the alleged “Notice to Rockstar” used as proof of the game’s automatic release threats. According to the first reports, CyberLeek would distribute full copies of the playable build globally, ready to be released automatically in case of legal actions or group closure. Proofs of this statement include leaked videos showing the protagonist Jason Duval shooting bullets against the wall to write "LEEK" (indicates a real-time control of build in development) and flight sequences on Vice City, high-speed driving, fighting and map details set at Leonida. The hype around the meme coin CYBERLEEK, based on Solana, has reached dizzying levels: the first pumps have exceeded 5,000% in a few hours, with exchange volumes that have often exceeded 112 million dollars according to CoinGecko. Some videos, accompanied by QR code and invitations to purchase, tie the hype directly to the leaks of news. The holders have even voted through donations in CYBERLEEK to decide what content to release after, creating a link between consecutive news escapes and trading activity. Take-Two Interactive has stepped up its legal response, obtaining from the federal judicial authority of New York the approval of quotes that oblige Microsoft and Discord to deliver data relating to accounts and devices connected to the individual behind CyberLeek. The company also requested X (Twitter) to trace back to the identity of the account responsible for leaking news.
