WWE records the brand "Vice City" – No conflict with GTA VI

The WWE has deposited a trademark for the term “Vice City”, a few months before the return of Grand Theft Auto VI to the city of the same name, as Fightful reports. At first glance, it seems that a wrestling company is trying to appropriate such a valuable name in gaming while enthusiasm reaches its peak, but reality is much less boring. The trademark deposit has nothing to do with the game: it concerns a wrestler. The WWE deposited the brand “Vice City” on 4 August and is tied to Lola Vice, a new star who ended its path in the company’s development brand and prepares for a move towards the main roster. Lola Vice comes from Miami, the real city that Rockstar Games has transformed into Vice City decades ago, and “Vice City” is a nickname linked to its roots in the birthplace. The brand is a branding strategy for her and is probably why WWE can use it. WWE deposited "Vice City" for wrestling and live entertainment. GTA VI exists in video games; they are two different streets and a brand in one does not block the other. That WWE owns “Vice City” for a wrestler does not prevent Rockstar from selling a game set at Vice City, as it does not prevent Miami's tourist board from exist. The two can coexist without ever meeting. WWE Big Events Before GTA 6 Launches on November 19 While Grand Theft Auto VI is preparing to debut on 19 November 2026, here is a summary of the premium live and special WWE events confirmed until then. Rockstar Games and WWE are already on the same road: Rockstar is owned by Take-Two Interactive and the WWE 2K series is published by 2K, also owned by Take-Two. Both collaborate closely with Netflix, with the WWE weekly events and broadcasts streaming live on the platform, while Rockstar has some games and the next GTA VI launch on it. The idea that these two companies can face a trade mark dispute for “Vice City” is almost comic considering that they already share a corporate parent in the video game industry. If anything, they're more brothers. The most probable result is that the deposit goes on quietly for use wrestling or is rejected for technical reasons, and in any case, the next Grand Theft Auto VI will not be affected. Of course, it won't surprise us if these two companies will cooperate to advertise GTA 6 somehow or otherwise. TTWO CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has already promised that GTA 6 marketing will be different from any other, shorter than all previous games and most likely present anywhere. WWE is one of the most important sports shows, with several confirmed and potential events scheduled between now and then. With GTA 6 already on Netflix, wouldn't it be natural that these two companies find a way to benefit the four parts? For now, it's just speculation. The only thing we can confirm is that WWE and Rockstar are not in conflict.
