Rockstar: Extended Preview on Netflix on August 27 with New GTA VI Images
Rockstar Games announced an event dedicated exclusively to Grand Theft Auto VI, entitled “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look”. The event will allow players to discover new content of the game on August 27 at 21:00 (Paris time). The broadcast will be available on Netflix, then be replicated later on the official YouTube channel of Rockstar Games and on the study website. The extended preview, as the definition itself suggests, promises unpublished films that could reveal further details of the game, of its world – including Vice City, Leonida, Port Gellhorn, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga, Ambrosia, Ocean Beach – and gameplay. After the release of the second trailer, the official information was scarce, making this event the first big moment dedicated to the game after several months of waiting. The Netflix partnership is a novelty for Rockstar Games. Subscribers at the streaming service will have access to the presentation several hours before its free spread on YouTube and the publisher's official website. The wait for the launch scheduled for November 19, 2026, initially available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, reaches the peak with this preview. L’annuncio dell’evento su Netflix mi convince poco, soprattutto per l’orario di trasmissione (21:00 ora di Parigi). Conosco bene le abitudini della community GTA e questo orario è decisamente mirato a un pubblico europeo più formale, forse con una componente di professionisti o persone che lavorano. Mi aspettavo qualcosa di più in linea con il target del gioco, più vicino alle ore serali tipiche delle sessioni di gameplay. La partnership con Netflix è interessante, e l’accesso anticipato per gli abbonati potrebbe incentivare molti a cambiare servizio di streaming, ma resta da vedere quanto contenuto realmente inedito verranno a mostrare. Il fatto che l'anteprima venga diffusa in parallelo su YouTube e sul sito ufficiale suggerisce un tentativo di massimizzare la visibilità, ma riflette anche una certa cautela da parte di Rockstar nell'esporre il gioco in modo troppo ampio. Continuano a farmi pensare che la data di rilascio del 19 novembre 2026 sia stata scelta per dare alle spalle il lancio su PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X|S, ma al momento sembra che siano più focalizzati sul "hype" che sulla presentazione vera e propria del gioco.
