Pre-order GTA VI: Zelnick Forget Discounts and Players Prefer the Ultimate Edition

Grand Theft Auto VI’s pre-order performance is confirming Take-Two Interactive’s choices, with CEO Strauss Zelnick clarifying the company’s position regarding the possible price reduction. As reported by Gamesource.it, during an interview with CNBC, Zelnick stated that Take-Two does not plan to apply discounts to the title in the short term, despite the release of GTA VI is getting closer. Take-Two's strategy, similar to that adopted for GTA 5, remains to maintain the fixed price, leaving the flexibility of any reductions to individual retailers. Zelnick explained that discounts could be promoted by stores as part of bundles or autonomous promotions. Pre-order analysis reveals another interesting trend: many players are choosing the Ultimate 100 euro edition, rather than the 80 euro Standard Edition. According to Zelnick, this could reflect the profile of GTA VI enthusiasts, or individuals already strongly involved in the Rockstar saga and therefore more likely to invest in the full experience offered by the most expensive edition, which includes vehicles, weapons, clothing and other exclusive activities. Take-Two's decision thus seems to be based on a solid pre-order basis, without immediate pressure to reduce the game price, at least for the moment.
