GTA VI: the relationship between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos triggered a heated debate on virtual infidelity

Media attention focuses on romantic dynamics between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos in Grand Theft Auto VI, transforming a choice of optional gameplay into a real debate on the ethics of virtual relationships. The discussion was born after the release of Rockstar Games' Extended Look on August 27, 2026, made with game sequences captured on PlayStation 5, showing interactions between the two protagonists in the state of Leonida, from romantic exits to criminal acts performed in couple. Among the most important comments is that of creator Shelby Haas, who launched an appeal to girlfriends and wives to prevent their partners from playing GTA 6, citing the emotional dynamics between Jason and Lucia. Haas' boyfriend, Alex Eubank, declared his willingness to give up the game in case of discomfort. Many users shared this perspective, interpreting romantic interaction as a form of infidelity, while others emphasize that Jason and Lucia are predefined characters from the plot of the game. Rob Nelson, responsible for the development and co-director of Rockstar North, has made it clear that players will be able to choose whether or not to deepen the relationship between the two protagonists: the relationship will remain an integral element of the story, however without offering advantages of gameplay. GTA 6, with settings in the streets of Vice City and in the state of Leonida, will be available from 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
