Game Informer unveils vintage details on GTA VI: giant map, dynamic weather and beyond

The highly anticipated Game Informer report dedicated to Grand Theft Auto VI has finally arrived, offering an unprecedented overview of the kolossal at the end of 2026. This 14-page document represents one of the most complete previews of the game to date, focusing on the main aspects of the game world. Rockstar has confirmed that the map of GTA VI will be double the size of that in GTA 5, promising an unprecedented open world. In addition to the imposing dimensions, the study is implementing numerous new features and activities. A key element is the weather system, which is expected to be extremely dynamic. Players will experience a wide range of climate variations, with tropical storms and hurricanes that will affect the area of Leonida on random occasions. Wind and rain will influence the surrounding environment, creating realistic effects on vegetation, water and even the appearance of characters. The vast world of play (divided in the areas of Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Monte Kalaga) will be populated by an extraordinaryly diverse fauna: over 170 animal species, including sharks, whales, jellyfish and many other marine creatures. The narrative will also play a central role. Player choices will influence the relationship between Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, shaping the course of the main story. Specific details have not yet been revealed. Among the new activities announced: jet ski, clandestine races, base jumping, kayaking, hydroplane and exploration of numerous interior buildings. Rockstar has invested greatly in the variety of gameplay, offering players a wide range of options in addition to the main missions. GTA VI will be available on November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
