Rockstar launches Collector’s Box GTA 6 from 400€: only gadgets, the game remains separated

Rockstar has announced the availability of a Collector’s Box dedicated to Grand Theft Auto VI, designed for collectors and enthusiasts. The package, which costs about 400 euros, includes a series of exclusive items but does not contain the game itself, which must be purchased separately. The content of the Collector’s Box has been revealed: a real-size poster of the Leonida map, a miniature statuette of MacCarthy with openable base to hide small objects, and a 125$ liquid vinyl with the official soundtrack of the game. The soundtrack includes tracks from artists like Travis Scott and will be available along with the game on November 19th. Rockstar also announced that it will continue to support GTA Online even after the launch of GTA VI, keeping the interest in this title alive. The anticipations on the game include the official presentation on Netflix on August 27, and the release of the GTA 6 vinyl, along with the game on November 19. Abbiamo visto situazioni simili in passato con altre saghe, ma la cifra richiesta qui appare eccessiva, soprattutto considerando l'ambito del brand GTA e il target a cui si rivolge. L'offerta si configura come un mero oggetto da collezione, giustificata forse solo dall’esclusività di alcuni elementi come il poster della mappa di Leonida o il vinile liquido con colonna sonora di artisti come Travis Scott – elementi che, a mio avviso, non giustificano assolutamente un investimento simile. La decisione di Rockstar di mantenere GTA Online attivo dopo il lancio di GTA VI aggiunge ulteriore strascino all'operazione, ma non compensa la natura artificiale e, diciamolo, un po’ ostentata di questa Collector’s Box. Mi preoccupa l'impressione che si tratti più di una speculazione commerciale che di un gesto per i true fans del franchise, e che il prezzo sia stato fissato in modo da massimizzare il profitto a discapito dell'esperienza del giocatore che desidera semplicemente acquistare il gioco.
