Map of Leonida for GTA VI: unprecedented details, but smaller area than expected

The fans of GTA VI continue to work on the reconstruction of the map of Leonida, and version 16 of the community project has a considerably higher level of detail. As illustrated by the user u/poorna sus14 on Reddit, the coastal lines, the beaches, the urban areas and the borders of the counties were completely reworked, with the addition of numerous roads and buildings in Vice City, Key Lento, Hamlet, Capri and Ambrosia. The Altimetrica map was further revised, with the inclusion of new camera positions and the reporting of parking areas and industrial areas. Particularly curated was the reproduction of Vice City and its surroundings, with more detailed buildings, additional alleys, heliports and new road links. The interactive versions of the map are available on GTADB and State of Leonida, allowing users to explore individual locations and streets in detail. The staircase was reduced to 1 × 1 km, with a total surface of the map of about 21 × 20 km, or 420 km2. However, much of this area is occupied by water or is not part of the reconstructed continental mass. Version 16 estimates the Earth's surface at about 85.6 km2, down from almost 110 km2 of the previous version. The mapping team motivated this reduction by reviewing the scale and form of Leonida based on new information. Despite the small size compared to the first estimates, the reconstructed map of GTA VI remains impressive: it is about 50 km2, comparable to the land surface of GTA 5.
