The preload of Grand Theft Auto VI on PS5 will begin on November 12, 2026 at 00:00 local time. In Italy, the game will be available for download from midnight on 19 November: the Italian Store indicates the 23:00 UTC of 18 November, or the Italian midnight. On Xbox Series X|S, the official date remains on November 19, but it is advisable to monitor the Store for the specific definitive time stamp of the account. Rockstar set the start of the preload at 12 November 2026 at midnight. This information has been confirmed in the official FAQ regarding GTA VI platforms, editions and versions. This means that those who bought a suitable digital version can start downloading files a week before launch. The physical packaging is also organized around the preload: Rockstar has announced that the box contains a download code and not a disk, with availability from November 12. We have detailed separately how the physical version with GTA VI code works. For the Italian PlayStation accounts, the official GTA 6 unlocking time is set at 00:00 on 19 November 2026. The Italian page of Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation Store shows the 23:00 UTC on November 18. We remember that Italy is in CET (Central European Time), so this time corresponds to Italian midnight. The preload does not anticipate access to the game; it is only used to download files before unlocking. Standard and Ultimate editions share the same date of release, while the Ultimate does not offer early access. To compare the contents and prices of the two versions, see our comparative article between GTA 6 Standard and Ultimate. For Xbox Series X|S accounts, Microsoft officially indicates November 19, 2026 as a launch date. The Italian Xbox page confirms platform and day, but it is prudent not to automatically transfer on Xbox the timestamp shown by the PlayStation Store. Therefore, if you play on Xbox, check the product page and the console countdown on the days immediately before launch. We will update this article as soon as Microsoft or Rockstar will provide a definitive Italian timeline for unblocking the game. At the moment the final size of GTA 6 was not officially communicated. It is important to avoid presented numbers as certain, since the final size may vary due to the installation package, file compression and the initial patches required by the console. We will carefully monitor Rockstar's official ads to provide a definitive update on the download size.
