The Rockstar has just announced the "Vice City Collection", a $399.99 box that includes 11 objects in theme Vice City, including Oakley Frogskins glasses, a New Era hat, a statuette of Macca the Gator and a map of Leonida. The collection is inspired by a fictional in-game television series entitled "Macca the Gator". Unfortunately, the game Grand Theft Auto VI is not included in the package and must be purchased separately. The collection also includes a blade-shaped keychain, a set of pins, an umbrella, a shoulder bag, a pocket mirror, a cocktail glass shaped like swizzle spoon, a sticker and a double-sided poster. Grand Theft Auto VI will be available from 19 November, with the standard edition at the price of 80 dollars and the final one at 100 dollars. L'elenco degli oggetti – occhiali Oakley Frogskins, cappellino New Era, statuetta di Macca the Gator, mappa di Leonida… – è decisamente fedele all'estetica di Vice City, e l'idea di una "serie televisiva fittizia" intitolata "Macca the Gator" aggiunge un tocco di eccentricità che si adatta perfettamente al franchise. Il prezzo di 399,99 dollari per questi oggetti, tuttavia, solleva dubbi sulla loro reale appetibilità per il giocatore medio; e la separazione dall'acquisto del gioco stesso non fa altro che esasperare ulteriormente la questione. La collezione, come evidenziato in altri articoli, sembra più un modo per monetizzare l’attesa per GTA VI piuttosto che un vero omaggio al titolo. Il fatto che lo sviluppo di quest'ultima includa elementi come una mappa di Leonida indica una visione a lungo termine del progetto, ma rende ancora più stridente l'inclusione di oggetti legati solo a Vice City.
