Ps5 Pro: Is Sold Out a GTA VI Effect?

The PlayStation 5 Pro has disappeared in block from the United States, Spain, Germany, France, Portugal and Australia. The “exhausted” sign dominates Amazon, MediaMarkt, Fnac, GAME and PlayStation Direct, with prices exceeding $1,500. The main cause, according to almost all retailers, is the wait for Grand Theft Auto 6, exiting November 19. However, the situation goes beyond a simple peak of demand, reflecting a structural crisis in the availability of RAM memory chips that is reorganizing the hardware industry of gaming. The European framework at the beginning of September 2026 is alarming: in Spain GAME and El Corte Inglés mark the console as exhausted in the bundles, while MediaMarkt maintains the official price (899 euros) but no longer has units available for delivery or withdrawal. The situation is repeated in Germany, where Amazon indicates waiting times of one-two months and several third-party retailers ask for four zero figures. France is also affected: Fnac, Darty, Carrefour, Micromania and PlayStation Direct are out of stock. Portugal confirms the European pattern, with Worten, Fnac, El Corte Inglés, Darty and PlayStation Direct out of stock. There are no official Italian figures, but the sold-out in Spain, France, Germany and Portugal suggests a similar situation in our country. The shortage is not sudden: in August some German users reported difficulty finding the PS5 Pro, weeks before the global sold out in early September. On August 27, Rockstar Games published an "Extended Look" by GTA 6 on Netflix and YouTube, immediately triggering a dizzying question. On August 30, Play3 spoke of “ausverkauft” at almost all retailers, while on September 7, Tom’s Guide confirmed the release from the availability on Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart.
