Take-Two: GTA 6 to 80 Dollars "Unbelievable Business" - US Price Officialized

Grand Theft Auto VI will cost $79.99 in its standard edition in the United States, a figure that for Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick is an advantageous opportunity for consumers. During the conference call on the results of the first fiscal quarter of 2027, Zelnick argued that video games sold at $80 can still be considered an "incredible business" thanks to the experience offered. The CEO justified this assessment with the amount of entertainment provided by a video game compared to the cost of purchase, defending the relationship between price and value of the medium as a whole. Zelnick stressed that even a price of 80 dollars could be beneficial when the proposed experience justifies expenditure. Rockstar Games officialized the US price of $79.99 for the standard GTA 6 edition, while the Ultimate Edition will be sold at $99.99. These figures refer only to the US market. Prices for Italy are not yet available, which cannot be obtained through a simple conversion from the dollar. The preorders are already open and GTA 6 will be launched on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The launch will return to the fiscal year of Take-Two, a crucial period for the publisher’s economic expectations. Take-Two Interactive provides Net Bookings between 8 and 8.2 billion dollars for the fiscal year 2027, with GTA 6 indicated as one of the main growth factors. The Grand Theft Auto brand has already reached nearly 475 million units worldwide, while GTA V has exceeded 230 million copies sold.
