Nintendo could challenge GTA VI with the remake of Ocarina of Time

As predictable, numerous video games have modified their launch dates to avoid a direct comparison with GTA 6. Also outstanding AAA titles such as Playground Games Fable were moved compared to autumn 2026, in an effort not to compete with Rockstar Games’ upcoming kolossal debut. However, some studies do not seem willing to give up November. Nintendo, in particular, could follow this strategy with the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, as insider NateTheHate suggests through its YouTube channel. According to NateTheHate, Nintendo could release the remake in the first week of November or directly the same week as the launch of GTA 6. The insider points out that Nintendo is not particularly concerned with a direct confrontation with Rockstar, despite the sales planned for GTA 6 are clearly higher than the projections for Ocarina of Time. November and December traditionally represent the most important months for Nintendo's software sales, offering the Kyoto company a solid foundation of trust in its audience. In addition, GTA 6 will not be available on Nintendo Switch 2 at launch, eliminating direct competition on software sales on the Nintendo platform. If confirmed, November may represent an unusual face-to-face between two of the most iconic sagas in the video industry: Grand Theft Auto VI and the return of one of the most beloved chapters in the history of The Legend of Zelda.
