A shot of assault rifle on a wall, a concrete demonstration of the possession of the game. The sequences show Jason Duval aboard a biplane as the map of Vice City flies over, with quick frames to offer a complete overview of the setting. There are no narrative developments or key moments of the plot, only a long flight that allows to observe the territory from above. The most remarkable element is temporal precision. After the first material leaks, the author kept the promise, releasing the gameplay exactly as expected, fixing date and time of publication. Behind this leak is a motivation: the protest against the exclusive digital distribution of the game. It's not the first time Rockstar Games is facing similar situations. In 2022 a massive leak had revealed details about mechanics and game content, still being developed, causing significant damage to the study. The situation is repeated now, with the crucial difference that the game is almost complete and destined to go out in a few weeks. The reaction of the study is the expected one: rapid removals on social media, but the diffusion speed of the material exceeds the attempts to block. A video can disappear in a few minutes, but in that short time it has already been saved, shared and reproduced on numerous channels. The real danger lies in the disclosure of spoilers on the plot. La velocità con cui questo leak si è diffuso mi convince poco. Ricordo ancora la fibrillazione intorno al leak di 2022, quando il materiale era stato raccolto in fasi iniziali dello sviluppo e le informazioni erano caotiche e spesso contraddittorie. Qui invece abbiamo un gameplay completo, non solo un frammento, e una timeline impeccabile da parte del leaker, che sembra quasi voler giocare con Rockstar, come se sapesse esattamente quando e cosa sarebbe successo. Mi ricorda molto l'approccio di CyberLeek, noto per la sua capacità di rilasciare contenuti originali e non modificati, quasi sempre accompagnato da un sottile messaggio contro la distribuzione digitale esclusiva - una tattica che sembra essere diventata un leitmotiv nella community GTA, soprattutto dopo i ripetuti tentativi di Rockstar di imporre il modello del download digitale. La presenza di Jason Duval a bordo di un biplano su Vice City è un dettaglio particolarmente significativo: sappiamo da altri leak che la mappa di Vice City avrà un ruolo centrale nel gioco e, visto l'uso del biplano, potrebbe trattarsi di una meccanica di volo più complessa di quanto non si pensi. Questo dipinge già il gioco come qualcosa di vasto e di cui Rockstar si aspetta che i giocatori si perdano per ore. La reazione "standard" di Rockstar - rimozioni sui social media - è chiaramente inefficace: un filmato, una volta visto, è come un virus informatico, impossibile da estirpare completamente. Il pericolo più grande, ovviamente, rimane la diffusione di spoiler sulla trama. Penso che il fatto che il leaker abbia utilizzato la scritta "LEEK" su un muro in stile CyberLeek sia un messaggio esplicito: non si tratta solo di una fuga di gameplay, ma di una vera e propria protesta contro le pratiche aziendali.
