Rockstar keeps silence on Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos: inspiration from Red Dead Redemption 2 fuels speculation

By GTA6 Hub editorial team

Rockstar Games is adopting a prudent approach to the revelation of the identity of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the two protagonists of GTA VI. According to Notebookcheck.it and analyzed by journalist James Jarvis, the influence of Red Dead Redemption 2 is evident in the concept of the game, but the company is actively engaged to limit the leaks of news regarding the cast. Stephen Root, known for his role in "King of the Hill", recently gave voice to a character in the new title, initially eliciting the hypothesis that he played Brian Heder. However, Rockstar has sent notices to the artists involved, reminding them of the obligation to comply with the confidentiality agreements (NDA) and specifying that on November 19 the final date for any announcement regarding the cast’s participation. Jarvis pointed out that this move is aimed at protecting Jason, Lucia and the rest of the characters, preventing any premature revelations that could compromise marketing strategies. The email sent to the artists, made known by Jarvis during the podcast “GTA VI O’Clock”, reiterates the importance of respect for NDAs and the priority given to the launch of the game on November 19. Although there is no disclosure of the background of actors or motivations to the basis of their choice for their respective roles, it is assumed that Rockstar could be an exception to the pair of protagonists at some point, similarly to what was done with Arthur Morgan and Dutch van der Linde in Red Dead Redemption 2. The speculation about names and aspects related to Jason and Lucia continues online, with some web investigators who identify Manni L. Perez as a possible interpreter of the role of a collaborator by similarity with Duval. Rockstar, for the moment, maintains silence, aiming to maintain control over the narrative until the official launch of GTA VI on November 19.
