GTA VI: The Auto Park – American Inspirations and New Icons

GTA VI: the car park, one of the most anticipated features of the new chapter of Grand Theft Auto, is taking shape with a rich variety of vehicles that recall existing models, reinterpreted under the fictional brands Vapid, Bravado, Declasse, Karin or Obey. As with Rockstar Games tradition, cars present in the game are not exact reproductions, but inspirations faithful to American, European and Japanese real cars, offering a wide range of categories ranging from supercars to off-roads, passing through muscle car and berline. The setting of Leonida, a Florida alter ego, with Vice City renewed as Miami, is at the center of this car park. The trailers show a dummy care in aesthetic details, with realistic reflections and the use of ray tracing that gives the surfaces an extremely credible aspect. The interior, while simplified for optimization reasons, allows to interact with the infotainment system. Among the most obvious models are reinterpretations of the Dodge Challenger and Charger, of the Chevrolet Camaro (also in cabriolet version) and a red muscle car inspired by the Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu, re-started as Declasse Tulip. There is also a robust-looking pick-up, the Vapid Caracara 4×4, inspired by the Ford F-150 Raptor, and the Bravado Bison (Ram 1500), as well as a Chevrolet Suburban renamed Granger. The Vapid Dominator recalls the Ford Mustang, while the Declass Tulip is inspired by the Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu, the protagonist of one of the sequences shown in the extensive look on Netflix. La cura con cui Rockstar Games sta affrontando il parco auto di GTA VI è decisamente notevole. Il riferimento esplicito a modelli reali, soprattutto americani, è un’operazione già collaudata nella saga e qui si conferma efficace, arricchendo l'immersione nel mondo di Vice City. La varietà offerta, che spazia da supercar ad auto da fuoristrada passando per muscle car, punta a soddisfare gusti diversi, mantenendo intatta la componente “sandbox” tipica della serie. L'associazione con Leonida, un’eco della Florida e una chiara citazione alla cultura automobilistica americana, è un dettaglio che si sposa perfettamente con l'estetica generale del gioco, rafforzando il senso di familiarità per i fan del franchise. La menzione specifica della Chevelle Malibu come Declasse Tulip – già mostrata nell'extended look su Netflix – suggerisce una curatela meticolosa e un’attenzione ai dettagli che promette di essere uno dei punti di forza del gioco.
