Rockstar Games announced that it will officially present Grand Theft Auto VI on August 27 on Netflix. The event, scheduled at 21:00 Italian, will represent the first public event dedicated to the game after months of waits and speculations. No specific details have yet been disseminated on the content of the presentation, but expectations focus on the possibility of assisting new gameplay sequences. The communication was released through an official post on various social platforms. The announcement comes in conjunction with the release of the official cover of the game and the opening of the preorders, as well as with voices that deny the production of physical records for the title and alert on a possible delay of more than six months on the date of release scheduled for 2026. Non mi convince affatto questa scelta di Netflix. Non per la piattaforma in sé, che ovviamente sarà accessibile a milioni di persone, ma per il timing. Lanciare l’annuncio con un gameplay su Netflix è una mossa strategica, certo, sfruttare il pubblico già affezionato alla serie e l'attenzione generata da Netflix stessa. Però, visto il ritardo annunciato di oltre sei mesi nell'uscita prevista per il 2026, mi sembra quasi una strategia del "fai da te" per la campagna pubblicitaria. È come se volessero tenere i giocatori incollati alle novità per il più lungo periodo possibile, alimentando l'hype con piccoli assaggi e lasciando il vero impatto a Novembre 2026. Penso che potrebbero aver preferito un evento live su YouTube, magari legato a una convention di videogiochi, per massimizzare l’attenzione mediatiche immediate e creare un senso di urgenza, soprattutto vista la distanza tra la presentazione e l'uscita effettiva. Vedremo cosa succederà il 27 agosto, ma almeno per me questo lancio su Netflix mi fa pensare che non hanno ancora le carte in regola per gestire al meglio l'attesa.
