Take-Two defends the price of GTA VI: “A deal” according to Zelnick

For Take-Two, the value of $79.99 in the United States for Grand Theft Auto VI will be determined by the scope of Rockstar Games' experience. During the financial call, CEO Strauss Zelnick defended the price, stating that the experience provided will largely justify spending, making the new title a valid investment. Zelnick has clarified that Take-Two does not aim to maximize profit, but to propose a total value product capable of justifying the cost. The CEO stressed that the figure represents a threshold consistent with the expectations generated around the Rockstar project. The US price, already communicated by Rockstar Games along with the opening of preorders, is now supported by Zelnick’s statements to investors. Take-Two entrusts Rockstar with the task of transforming the promise of an exceptional experience into a product capable of sustaining that cost. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
