GTA 6 on PC in 2027? The prediction of Dan Clancy and the future of GTA Online 2

The multiplayer section of Grand Theft Auto VI could arrive in 2027, a few months after the release of the main game. The indication comes from Dan Clancy, CEO of Twitch, who during an interview with Bloomberg at the Tokyo Game Show illustrated direct contacts with Rockstar Games. The study, however, has not yet announced an online mode or communicated a launch window. Clancy explained that Twitch devoted time to discussions with Rockstar Games, focusing on plans related to GTA VI and how to involve creators. His words derive from direct contacts with the team, although the reference to 2027 remains a forecast of the manager and does not represent an official confirmation from the study. The CEO previews a strong increase of the audience on Twitch in conjunction with the launch of GTA VI. An even greater impulse should arrive “Next year” with the multiplayer: considering the time context of the statement, this would mark the possible debut of the online component during 2027. Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If Clancy's indication was correct, Rockstar would then separate the main campaign from the multiplayer mode, without being known details about the structure or name of the new online section. A subsequent launch of the multiplayer would have a direct precedent in the series. GTA Online debuted in 2013 shortly after Grand Theft Auto V and contributed decisively to the longevity of the title. Rockstar has not yet clarified whether the next online project will follow the same model, nor officially presented a successor tied to GTA VI. Meanwhile, Take-Two Interactive indicated that the current GTA Online will continue to receive support even after the release of GTA VI. The confirmed calendar remains limited to the main game of 19 November 2026, while the possible multiplayer in 2027 remains for now linked to Clancy's statements.
