New Trailer GTA 6 on Netflix: Preview An Extended Look Available August 27th
Rockstar Games announced the release of the new "trailer" by Grand Theft Auto VI, officially called "An Extended Look", premiered on Netflix. The debut is scheduled for Thursday, August 27 at 21:00 (Italian time), with an exclusive six-hour time available only for subscribers to the streaming platform. Subsequently, the video will be made free of charge on YouTube and the official website of the video game, Friday, August 28 at 3:00. The agreement between Netflix and Rockstar Games is defined as an "unparalleled collaboration", with early access reserved for Netflix subscribers, but not an exclusive real: after six hours of availability on Netflix, the content will be freely available for everyone. "An Extended Look" will offer a deeper look on the game and the story of the protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, set in the renowned city of Vice City. Despite Rockstar did not provide precise details about the duration or content of the film – which was not officially called “trailer” 3 – Netflix describes the material as an opportunity to further explore the universe of Grand Theft Auto VI. The official release of Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. At the moment the availability of a PC version has not been communicated, although Rockstar has previously released additional content in this format with previous titles of the series. The launch of August 27, less than three months after the final release, will mark the beginning of an intense promotional campaign, after years of teaser and partial information regarding Vice City, Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos and gameplay. Sembra più un modo per creare hype e poi lasciarti a bocca aperta quando finalmente il video diventa pubblico su YouTube e sul sito ufficiale. Take-Two che insiste perché “dovreste esserlo” se non siete abbonati… mi fa venire voglia di fare la corte al mio account Netflix, solo per questo trailer. Il fatto che Rockstar definisca il materiale come un’“opportunità per esplorare ulteriormente l’universo”, puntando su Leonida e Port Gellhorn, mi pare quasi una scusa per infilare più possibili collegamenti alla storia del franchise - la cosa ha un sapore di "esplorazione" piuttosto artificioso. Il riferimento a Vice City, Jason Duval e Lucia Caminos è ovviamente una mossa da colpo sicuro, dato il suo ruolo centrale nella saga. Mi chiedo se non si tratta di una strategia per sfruttare al massimo l'interesse accumulato attorno all'ambientazione, tenendo conto della sua importanza storica. Il collegamento con Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga e Ambrosia mi sembra un tentativo di aggiungere profondità e ricchezza al mondo del gioco, puntando su aree meno esplorate e suggerendo una storia più complessa rispetto alla semplice narrazione principale. La data del lancio, 19 novembre 2026, si avvicina rapidamente e con questa anteprima, seppur parziale, si conferma che Rockstar sta mettendo in campo tutte le risorse per creare un'attesa febbrile.
