GTA VI: Sending the Game to Parliament - The unexpected reaction of the Polish Deputy

The release of Grand Theft Auto VI, the most anticipated title of the decade, was again postponed next year. The controversy also persists in the Polish parliamentary offices. During a parliamentary session, Witold Tumanowicz, deputy of the opposition party KWiN, expressed his "preoccupation" for the new postponement of the game, calling it a "huge trade union". The comment of Tumanowicz himself, during last week's parliamentary intervention, was: “Honestly, if after such a thing people don’t go down the street, I don’t know what will happen.” The intervention has provoked conflicting reactions. Some Polish media judged the finding of Tumanowicz's "absurd", while social media users welcomed the initiative with irony. A comment on X read: “Finally we discuss important issues.” The MP of the Law and Justice Party (right and justice), Paweł Szrot, expressed his support to the colleague, emphasizing as "respect for such statements". He also added an ironic reference to the expansion of Bannerlord, another role-playing game subject to delays. GTA, developed by Rockstar Games, is one of the most popular video games in history, known for its gangster settings and violence. The saga, begun in 1997 with the first title, generated over 450 million copies, exploring cities like Miami in the 1980s and Los Angeles ghettos in the early 2000s. The new chapter, GTA VI, after a first postponement planned for autumn 2025, will be available from 19 November 2026. Rockstar Games has justified the postponement with the need to "find the game to the quality level you expect and deserve".
