GTA VI: New Rumor on Ambientation and Characters – Vice City Revisited and Two Timelines
Although Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI, there are numerous noises and leaks that reveal details about the new title. The latest information comes from Reddit and concerns the setting, game map and playable characters. Accommodation and Game Map Grand Theft Auto VI would be set primarily at Vice City, a significantly renewed version of the historic game map of 2002. The map will be more compact than that of Grand Theft Auto V, with a smaller rural extension, but it will keep swampy areas, forests and beaches. A significant addition is the existence of an island inspired by the Bahamas, accessible to the protagonists for recreational purposes. For the first time in the series, GTA 6 could present two overlapping timelines: the 1980s and the present. Vice City would appear in two distinct versions – a modern and older – which would justify the reduced size of the map. Characters and History As in Grand Theft Auto V, the game will offer three playable characters. The timeline of the 1980s would see a Cuban protagonist inspired by Scarface, while in the modern version we would meet a young black woman, a former professional athlete who, following an injury, embarked on a criminal career, flanked by an Hispanic friend. Despite initial attempts, Rockstar would have abandoned the idea of including a female character. The two timelines would be connected, with events of the present influenced by those of the 1980s and the choices made by the player. Gameplay, Online and Customization The noises indicate the return of the bullet time and the possibility to slow down the drive. A particularly interesting aspect would be the customization of the online, which would go beyond traditional aesthetic changes. Players could customize the interior and exterior of acquired buildings, firearms, character bodywork (with fattening or slimming options). Note: the development of Grand Theft Auto VI is still in its early stages and the title will continue to be an object of speculation until its planned release on 19 November 2026.
