Take-Two in Crisis at GTA VI Leak Follow: Loss of 2.83 Billions in Cause of Build Live Divulgated by Cyberleek

Take-Two Interactive suffered a loss of capitalization of approximately $2.83 billion in less than two days following the spread of unpublished footage of GTA VI, published by the Cyberleek leaker and showing a playable character, Jason Duval, who writes the word “LEEK” on a wall with firearms. The situation raised doubts about the nature of the images, suggesting that Cyberleek is playing on a live build of the game not yet released. Other breaks show a flight over Vice City and a cutcene focused on using VPNs. According to Forbes, the build probably dates back to 2025. Rockstar and Take-Two were silent about these revelations. The demands advanced by Cyberleek – a physical version of the game, the absence of paid DLC for the single player and full offline access – seem to aim to exert pressure on Rockstar to change its exclusive digital release plan. A report describes the campaign as an attempt to extort information to the videoludic giant. The situation recalls, to some extent, the protest for PlayStation records last July, with Sony. This leak operation also seems to have a commercial component: Cyberleek has advertised cryptocurrencies in its publications and promoted paid surveys. Journalists following the leaks reported links that refer to apparent crypto scam. Rockstar, however, maintains the launch date of November 19. Take-Two confirmed this date in a document filed last July. An extended version of the game will be presented on Netflix on August 27 at 21:00 Italian time. The title TTWO was traded at $248.13 before August 18, and then dropped at $223.84 and closed at $ 240.15 in raise of 1.31% and with a decrease of 6.81% from the beginning of the year. Approximately $1.5 billion of the loss still remains to be recovered.
