GTA VI: The World of Leonida Becomes Live with Dynamic Weather and Over 170 Animal Species

Rockstar Games continues to reveal impressive details about Grand Theft Auto 6, presenting a radically more dynamic and immersive game world thanks to the introduction of an advanced weather system and an incredibly detailed fauna. According to Game Informer and artistic vice-president Owen Shepherd, the new weather will not only be superficial, but “much more localized and persistent”, with completely dynamic clouds that cross the map, creating variable weather conditions even between geographically nearby areas. From a clear sky to spectacular cumulonembi clouds typical of Florida summer storms, complete with lightning, strong winds and torrential rains. One of the most remarkable features will be the persistent impact of bad weather. A thunderstorm may start in an area while the player is elsewhere, leaving flooded streets, puddles and rainbows. It is not yet clear how this will affect driving, flight or other gaming activities. The new title will introduce over 170 animal species, including over 60 birds and more than 30 terrestrial mammals, such as alligators, lockers, monkeys, sharks, bears and numerous marine species, including lamantini, jellyfish and whales. According to vice president for dynamic weather Michael Kane, animals were placed in the different ecosystems inspired by Florida, from urban areas to Everglades marshes. Each species will have specific behaviors; furs and coats will react to rain and dirt. There will also be a system of exploration and tracking of animals, with creatures classified as Rare, Discoverable and Legendary. It is not yet known whether the hunting will be central or if Rockstar will introduce more peaceful activities such as observation and photography of the fauna. With these elements, GTA 6 seems to point to a constantly evolving Leonida under the eyes of the player, making the environment a crucial element of the gaming experience. Finally, Rockstar Games announced the official collector edition of the game.
