Rockstar Games announced that the official presentation of the new chapter of the Grand Theft Auto saga, GTA 6, will be held next August 27 at 21:00 Italian. The event will premiere on Netflix, then be available on YouTube and Rockstar Games official website six hours after the first broadcast. The presentation is a key event in the communication of the game, followed by months of waiting by fans. Despite expectations on the gameplay preview, the release date remains confirmed for November 19, with the title available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The streaming platform described the event as a “long preview of GTA 6, the next evolution of the revolutionary Grand Theft Auto series”. It will be interesting to see if the preview will provide new information about the world of game of Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, Cal Hampton and Raul Bautista, on the mechanics of game and on new elements such as Boobie Ike, Dre’Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Brian Heder and auto Vapid Stanier. Quello che mi preoccupa è l’approccio “anteprima estesa” di Netflix. Non mi convince poco il fatto che offrano sei ore di gameplay prima della data di uscita ufficiale; mi sembra una mossa per creare un ulteriore senso di urgenza e, diciamolo, per spingere le persone a sottoscrivere un abbonamento premium (se lo fanno). La strategia di Rockstar è sempre stata quella di costruire l'attesa, ma questa anteprima prolungata rischia di minare quell’effetto. Il fatto che sia disponibile sei ore prima del lancio ufficiale suggerisce una manipolazione della narrazione: la gente giocherà a un punto del gioco, avrà il tempo di formarsi delle aspettative e poi… beh, si dovrà accontentare del resto. L'averlo già presente su Netflix è un esperimento interessante, forse per vedere come reagiscono i giocatori a questo tipo di accesso anticipato al contenuto; vedremo se influenzerà le vendite o se sarà solo una curiosità passeggera.
