Release GTA VI: 1.5 Millions of Americans Could Miss Work

By GTA6 Hub editorial team

The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI is comparable to that for the water wet – simply undeniable. At the moment, pre-order forecasts exceed 6 million copies, with 4.8 million only on PS5. But can this new chapter of the saga have a negative impact on the US economy? On the day of the launch of GTA VI, getting up and going to work could prove difficult, especially if the game is ready to be played on the console or on the PC. Considered the duration of more than ten years in development, impatience is understandable. And depending on the time of the player, both at work and at home, he could only spend a few hours at the game before going to bed. According to several sources, up to 1.5 million people may be absent from work by disease, use holiday days or take advantage of paid permits. Several companies, according to the Wall Street Journal, have already included the release date in their permission packages. In any case, companies prepare for a reduced workforce, with many employees taking the day off to devote themselves to this new chapter of Grand Theft Auto. The first Grand Theft Auto came out in 1997 and since then the saga has generated billions of dollars of revenue and millions of copies sold. The last title, Grand Theft Auto V (2013), brought nearly $10 billion to Rockstar Games. The Grand Theft Auto games offer players the opportunity to explore open worlds, from iconic cities such as Liberty City, San Andreas and Vice City. In addition to the main plot, each game features a series of secondary missions and assignments to complete, offering hours of gameplay. In Grand Theft Auto VI, the story draws inspiration from the legendary Bonnie and Clyde couple, starring Jason and Lucia who choose to work together to build a new life. As the title suggests, it is no surprise that this includes a criminal approach. When things get dangerous, the couple must rely on each other to survive. Players control both Jason and Lucia respectively while history develops. In addition to the main plot, there are secondary assignments to complete, missions to perform and activities to discover. The enthusiasm for Grand Theft Auto VI is entirely understandable, especially considering the long waiting period by players. With a new compelling story, which sees Lucia in a significant role as a female protagonist, players are ready to dive completely into the world created by Rockstar Games.
