The company, until now strongly tied to the PlayStation console market, opted for Netflix’s streaming for the presentation, a decision that surprised the PlayStation’s official X account. The choice of Netflix, a highly expanding platform in the gaming industry with titles like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition offers Rockstar a very vast and neutral audience compared to consoles, avoiding any exclusive connection with PlayStation or Xbox. The trailer will also be available on the official YouTube channel of Rockstar Games and on the website dedicated to GTA VI on August 27 at 21:00 (time of the east coast of the United States). The presentation, scheduled for Netflix, is at a delicate time for Sony and Microsoft, both criticized for recent strategic choices. L’affidamento a Netflix è un colpo di scena. Finora Rockstar si era mossa esclusivamente attraverso i canali PlayStation, con il lancio su Xbox Series X|S in un secondo momento. Il fatto che abbiano puntato su una piattaforma di streaming così diffusa, soprattutto considerando le recenti dinamiche tra Sony e Rockstar (e le accuse di sfruttamento dei servizi online), mi convince poco. Sembra più una mossa per massimizzare la visibilità del gioco, non tanto per raggiungere un pubblico diverso.
