GTA VI: Rockstar focuses on the legacy of GTA V for the release of 19 November 2026

There are video games that are expected. And then there is Grand Theft Auto VI. The difference could only seem a matter of size, but it actually tells something much bigger. GTA 6 is not simply the new chapter of one of the most important series of video game history: it has become an event that attracts attention even to those who do not normally follow the world of gaming. And just as the long wait enters its climax, Rockstar Games is about to raise the curtain again. The next Extended Look of GTA 6 will arrive on August 27, with a surprisingly distributed presentation through Netflix, as well as the official Rockstar channels. The countdown to 19 November 2026, which is currently set for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release, then entered the live. But why does GTA 6 manage to generate attention that very few other video games can only approach? The answer is not one. It is the combination of over thirteen years of waiting, the huge weight of GTA V, the reputation of Rockstar, technological expectations, the economic dimension of the project and an even more important element: GTA 6 arrives at a time when the video industry needs an event capable of speaking to the public outside of its bubble. Want to save on the preorder of GTA 6? Whether you have chosen the Standard Edition, the Ultimate Edition or the new Upgrade, you can lower your spending by purchasing the discounted PlayStation Store and Xbox Gift Cards on Instant Gaming and using the credit you get to complete your purchase on the store of your console. A small approach that can be translated into a concrete saving since day one. From GTA V to GTA 6: thirteen years that have changed the market When GTA V arrived in stores in September 2013, the world of video games was very different from today. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One weren't on the market yet. Nintendo Switch did not exist. The concept of live service had not yet assumed the weight it would have had in the following years. TikTok did not exist and videoludic streaming was still far from being a mass phenomenon. In the meantime GTA V has become a practically unrepeatable phenomenon. The game has gone through multiple generations of hardware, while GTA Online has turned Grand Theft Auto from product sold once only to platform capable of maintaining millions of players involved for years. According to the data reported by Reuters, GTA V exceeded 230 million copies sold. And this is one of the elements that makes GTA 6 so particular. Rockstar must not simply achieve a successful sequel. He must collect the legacy of one of the best-selling and long-standing video games in history.
