Rockstar Games announced that a long preview entitled “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” will be available on Netflix on August 27, 2026, at 21:00 Italian. The event will be one of the first insights dedicated to the new chapter of the Grand Theft Auto saga. The presentation, of about 25 minutes according to some indiscretions, will not be transmitted simultaneously with Netflix but will become available free of charge also on YouTube and on the official website of GTA VI at 03:00 Italian of August 28. Rockstar Games chose this platform to reach a wider audience, abandoning traditional formats like State of Play or Xbox Showcase. The preview promises an extended look at the game, with the possibility of seeing gameplay sequences never seen before, although it is not yet confirmed that complete gaming sessions will be shown. The title “An Extended Look” suggests a deeper presentation than the previous trailers, which could focus on elements such as Vice City and the first stages of the game. Raul Bautista, Lucia Caminos and members of the development team of Boobie Ike Entertainment were confirmed at the event. The appointment is to be considered crucial to give concreteness to the expectations on the new iteration with Jason Duval to the guide. Considerando la decisione di Rockstar di distribuire l’anteprima su Netflix e YouTube, piuttosto che tramite un evento live come State of Play, mi convince poco l’idea di una presentazione così "aperta". Il titolo “An Extended Look” suggerisce comunque una certa densità informativa, soprattutto per quanto riguarda i luoghi presentati: Ocean Beach, Grassrivers e Port Gellhorn sono aree con un forte potenziale narrativo, e la menzione di Jason Duval come guida in alcune sequenze mi fa pensare a un legame con il mondo dell'automobilismo locale, forse una storia legata alle corse clandestine. La presenza di Raul Bautista, Lucia Caminos e del team di Boobie Ike Entertainment conferma l’attenzione di Rockstar nel costruire un cast eclettico, che potrebbe riflettere la complessità della narrazione, intersecando elementi criminali, musicali e legati all'industria dell'intrattenimento. L'evento rappresenta, quindi, un'opportunità per vedere a livello concreto come si integra la nuova iterazione con il folklore e l’ambiente delle precedenti installment del franchise, in particolare se ci sono echi di Vice City o Port Gellhorn.
