Driving Death Memorial, Leonida

The Monument to Death on the Road, Leonida. A monumental white marble obelisk commemorating the victims of road accidents along the SR17 state, in particular in the area of the Valley of the Giants. The base is decorated with embossed engravings depicting destroyed cars and stylized figures of affected people. At the top there is a bronze sculpture shaped as an angel in tears that symbolizes loss and pain. The monument was inaugurated in 2018, after years of fundraising by local drivers and road safety associations.
