GTA VI Weather System: Tempeste Bring Fans to Respond in Discussion on Vice City

Rockstar Games shared new details about the weather system of GTA VI, sowing doubts about how variable weather conditions will flatter the world of Leonida. The dynamic weather system of the game and its transitions between different locations have already sparked wide debates among fans. In a new interview for Game Informer, the developer confirmed that GTA VI will present extreme weather conditions, including localized tropical storms and total hurricanes on much of the map. Fans were surprised by the addition of hurricanes in the upcoming game. @nothaileybrooks commented: "Wow, this will be so realistic," declaring the need for a "new survival kit for hurricanes" when he plays. Another player, @adv vkr, reacted: "Uragani a Vice City? Driving has become much more dangerous." Similarly, the @realdreafox fan praised creators for their work in designing realistic conditions, describing new mechanics as a " paradigm change". This weather system is actually a paradigm shift. People do not really appreciate how dynamic and atmospherically deep storms add to an open-world sandbox. The way people consider the encoding of realistic hurricanes physics in a huge map as a simple switch is surprising. The rain can be localized, which means that a zone of Leonida will have a rain while the other remains sunny. Players will see the PNGs soaked by rain and will also see small puddles near street lamps and corners. The wind system was also very careful. Winds can move hair and debris on the roofs, ripple the water and fold the grass into the marshes of Leonida. "We have redesigned our weather system to make everything much more localized and persistent and we really wanted the world to feel solidly dynamic and reach a scale we never tried before," says Tom Shepherd, co-director of Rockstar San Diego's studio. Grand Theft Auto VI will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026. Originally reported by ComingSoon.
