Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick defended the choice to launch GTA VI exclusively in digital format at $80, underlining the value offered by Rockstar and rejecting price criticism. Despite this, it does not exclude any physical disk output. Zelnick justified the cost of the standard edition, fixed at $100, with inflation and the desire to offer a higher value, remembering that *Mafia: The Old Country was sold to $50. Approximately 70% of respondents in an IGN survey expressed interest in the US$100 edition, including an additional mission and exclusive stores. Take-Two also defended the decision not to include a demo playable at launch, highlighting that more than 90% of publisher's sales take place in digital format and that internet connection is now necessary to play modern video games through consoles. Zelnick denied that the choice was related to Sony's strategies or concerns regarding the dissemination of unauthorized information. In spite of this, Take-Two does not completely close the possibility of a future physical release, providing a niche market similar to vinyl. Zelnick concluded by stating that all options are open.
