Critics at the GTA VI Box: The price is too high and the game is missing

The highly anticipated collection box “Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” by Rockstar, which includes Macca the Gator, Oakley sunglasses, a New Era hat and other $399 gadgets, was welcomed with strong criticism from the online community dedicated to GTA VI. The box, centered on the TV mascot Leonida, also offers a selection of small extras such as a magnetic mirror, a liquor glass and weapon accessories. Recently, the GTA 6 map revealed by the poster included in the box further lit the debate. However, the high price and omission of the game itself were the subject of strong disputes. The most popular comment on the title subreddit, with more than 1,300 answers at the time of writing, directly asks the question: “This costs $400? ”. Many fans express disappointment for the absence of the game, emphasizing how the package, while offering merchandising elements, is not considered a true collector's edition. A user, u/Sektsioon, wrote: "Without the game (available in preorder on Amazon), 'it's not even a collection edition, since it does not include the game. It's just a collection of gadgets, lol." Other comments describe the content as “scadent and bad taste”. Although the Oakley Frogskins sunglasses (about $ 139) and the New Era hat (less than $30) have received some success, many fans would prefer to buy these items separately, given the overall expense. The idea of including a collectible statuette of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the two protagonists of the game, was expressed by several users, considered more sensible than the choice of Macca the Gator, although the latter is the object of interest. The individual prices of the articles suggest that, while being of established brand, the package as a whole appears excessively expensive for the content offered.
