Strauss Zelnick: Pre-orders GT6 Superad the Take-Two Expectations, Strong Partnership with Netflix

Interviews with Strauss Zelnick published on Bloomberg (with Jason Schreier) reveal an extremely positive picture for the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI. Take-Two Interactive's CEO stated that the pre-orders of the game have far exceeded internal forecasts, but did not disclose precise numbers, believing that they could be misleading for investors in relation to early sales to the public. Zelnick also emphasizes the lack of concern about the current lack of consoles, which should not affect the installed base for the launch of GT6. A key point is the deal with Netflix: Zelnick denied divulging contractual terms, highlighting an existing relationship between the two companies, with previous partnerships in the launch of GTA mobile: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and Red Dead Redemption through the Netflix Games platform. When Schreier asked whether this collaboration offered advantages in addition to financial aspects, for example, reaching an audience that might not be interested in the gameplay of GT6, Zelnick responded: “I think there is a reason behind this. If you look at the title when it is launched on Netflix, you will understand better.” He also defined the partnership with Netflix as a "unmissable event" given the broad base of service users (over 325 million subscribers). Finally, Zelnick confirmed that the plans for the launch day are “ultrasegretissimi” and will be available to talk about it in the future.
