Take-Two Confirm Sales Expected by 25 Millions of Copies for GTA VI – Zelnick Emphases Extrema Extensive Extensive

The waiting for GTA VI is getting more and more intense. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick described the new release scheduled for November 19 as “emotional and terrifying”, anticipating an unprecedented experience for consumers. The long wait, lasting over eight years, makes the enthusiasm even more palpable. According to estimates, GTA VI could reach 25 million units sold on the day of launch, thanks to the story of a criminal duo set in an imaginary version of Miami. The video game, heir of the series that has already exceeded the 225 million copies sold (Minecraft of Microsoft representing the second most sold title of all time), promises a clamorous success. Zelnick highlighted the massive investment needed for the realisation of the game, higher than most important gaming titles. Take-Two also provides sales of more than 25 million copies only on the first day of launch, initially focusing on the consoles Ps5 and Xbox Series X|S – choices dictated by the will to evaluate the reception of the game by its "main nucleus" – before a potential release for PC, as previously happened with NBA 2K titles. Net bookings increased by 25% on an annual basis and Take-Two turnover in the third quarter reached $1.76 billion, exceeding expectations thanks to the strong growth of recurring consumer expenses (23%) and mobile business (19%). The company has also reviewed the forecast for the entire fiscal year 2027, estimated net records bookings pushed by the GTA VI exits and other incoming securities.
