Cyberleek provides huge files on PS5 and Xbox: GTA VI might have difficulty reaching 60 fps

According to an analysis conducted by Cyberleek, the build of GTA VI for PC exceeds 200 GB, suggesting considerable file sizes for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The analysis is based on a video trailer on Netflix. The PC version of the game could face difficulties reaching 60 frames per second (fps), as evidenced by the analysis of the trailer for PS5. In fact, Rockstar North seems to have abandoned the 60 fps target for PlayStation Pro, suggesting significant challenges for current Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Digital Foundry observed that the trailer is played at 1440p with a frame rate predominantly at 30fps, optimized by maximizing the basic PS5 hardware. The analysis raises doubts about the possibility to double this value on current Xbox and PlayStation consoles. During the presentation on Netflix, Vice City is shown in a dense version of unplayable characters, traffic and pedestrians, simulating a complex open world that puts the CPUs of the next generation consoles hard to test. Adding effects such as global lighting with ray tracing further aggravates performance issues. According to Digital Foundry, only a PC with a high-end Ryzen X3D CPU could reach 60 fps, given the lack of components that makes it difficult to assemble high-end game configurations for Xbox and PS5 fans. Players would have more flexibility in adapting graphic settings to their preferences, such as deactivating ray tracing to improve frame rate, or using a lower resolution monitor.
