Rockstar Games officially set the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026, with a preorder already opened on Amazon. The new chapter of the saga will take place in the state of Leonida, hosting iconic locations such as Vice City and other surrounding areas. The pre-order, available for both PlayStation 5 (€79.99) and Xbox Series X|S (€81.99), offers a import download code, to keep in mind the digital origin of the product. Rockstar Games confirms that this is the greatest and immersive evolution achieved so far, with the streets at the neon of Vice City at the center of the narrative. The game will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with genres Shooter, Racing and Adventure, taking back the key elements that made Grand Theft Auto one of the most beloved and sold series in the history of video games. La scelta di ambientare GTA VI in una città così iconica, dopo anni trascorsi principalmente in open world rurali e urbani più contemporanei, suggerisce un'esplorazione profonda del passato della saga e delle sue radici nel crimine organizzato e nella cultura americana degli anni '80. Vedo già un parallelismo interessante con la trama di Vice City: la lotta per il controllo del territorio, i gang che si contendono le strade, l’influenza corrotta delle istituzioni... tutto questo sembra essere in pieno rilievo. Il fatto che l'edizione per Xbox Series S faccia parte della pubblicazione principale, senza piani separati, mi fa pensare a un approccio più accessibile da parte di Rockstar, consapevole dell'ampia platea di giocatori che potrebbero avere accesso solo a quella console. La strategia di offrire lo stesso gioco completo su diverse piattaforme ha senso, soprattutto considerando i costi di sviluppo e la necessità di ottimizzare l’esperienza per ogni sistema. Resta da vedere se le performance su Series S saranno paragonabili a quelle su Series X/S, ma l'annuncio è rassicurante in questo senso.
