Zelnick Svela: GTA VI Will not be in Money on Black Friday

Grand Theft Auto VI will be available on November 19th, a few days before Black Friday and in the fullest shopping season of the year. According to Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive during an interview with CNBC Squawkbox, the game will not have discounts on this or any other occasion for a long time. Zelnick has in fact clarified that digital platforms and retailers are free to slightly lower the price of GTA 6 (perhaps of a few dollars), but they will have to absorb profit loss, since TTWO and Rockstar will not intervene. As we saw with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, the trend is to launch the games at full price and then gradually lower it in the following months. Usually, by Christmas, many titles are on offer of 30-40% compared to their original price. Zelnick does not predict that it will happen with GTA 6, despite its basic price of 80 dollars and the Ultimate edition at 100 dollars. The fact that GTA 6 is already running out of stocks around the world (and it's a digital title) supports Zelnick's trust. The CEO cited the continuous success of Grand Theft Auto V, which maintained its launch price for a long time thanks to the incessant sales on three consoles and the constant flow of earnings from GTA Online. This gives GTA VI a remarkable ability to influence prices, considering that only Nintendo is able to compete with the saga. Zelnick also defended the prices of $80 and $100 claiming they offer greater value. The sales forecasts for Take-Two pre-orders are already exceeding expectations, which allows the company to act as it wishes. In another part of the interview, Zelnick mentioned the possibilities that players go to Ocean Beach, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga or Ambrosia (and perhaps also to Port Gellhorn and Vapid Stanier) to celebrate the game's release. It is important to note that Raul Bautista, Dre'Quan Priest, Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Real Dimez and Jason Duval are preparing to face the challenges of this new adventure.
