GTA VI on PC: a Review for the First Quarter of 2027 According to Anonymous Sources

The release of Grand Theft Auto VI on PC could be anticipated in the first quarter of 2027. The news comes from GamesBeat, which mentions four anonymous sources with access to Rockstar Games' plans. The release of the PC version is scheduled between January and March 2027. The expected release date for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S remains fixed on 19 November 2026. This would create a time gap between the two versions that could vary from about half to four and a half months. This is a significant breakthrough in Rockstar Games' strategy, which traditionally released Grand Theft Auto titles on consoles before taking them to PC. For example, Grand Theft Auto V came out on consoles in September 2013, while the PC version arrived only in April 2015, after about 19 months. Also Red Dead Redemption 2, launched on consoles in October 2018, saw its release on PC in November 2019, over a year later. This possible advance of PC release is linked to the growing importance of the PC market and Rockstar's interest in developing content created by users. The acquisition in August 2023 of the Cfx.re team, famous for FiveM (the GTA V multiplayer server platform), could be a key factor in this strategy. However, at the moment no further details have been leaked regarding this link between the purchase and the future release of GTA VI on PC. Rockstar Games has not issued official statements about the news reported by GamesBeat, nor Take-Two Interactive has confirmed the release of the PC version. At the moment, the official release of GTA 6 is scheduled exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while the release information on PC in the first quarter of 2027 remains valiant.
