Goodtime State Vice City Collection: Rockstar launches a controversial merchandise collection at $450 without including the game

Rockstar Games' Goodtime State Vice City Collection, limited edition for Grand Theft Auto VI, costs $450 and does not include a copy of the game. The collection, available in pre-order since September 24, is an offer of merchandising reminiscent of the souvenirs of Vice City, with elements like a statuette of Macca the Gator, sunglasses Oakley Frogskins, a shoulder bag Leonida Keys, a snapback hat New Era 9FORTY, a magnetic mirror, a shot glass of Chunkeee the Manatee, a teaspoon of collectible cocktails. Among these, the key ring in the shape of a tin, the magnetic mirror with the phrase "Reflected on your life choices" and the cocktail spoon form a recognizable set that immediately evokes illegal activities. Rockstar did not make any explicit reference to the combination of articles on the product page. The total price of $450 represents a significant expense, especially considering that the collection is sold without including the code for the purchase of the game. While having real-value items such as Oakley glasses and New Era cap, the collection is more like a lifestyle product than a traditional collector’s edition, and could be disappointing for digital pre-orderists who expect a complete premium package.
