Preview GTA 6 on Netflix: The Team of Lucia and Jason in Rapina a Vice City
Finally, in a few weeks, we will find out more about Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar Games announced the release of a long preview that, unlike traditional trailers, will not be immediately available on YouTube. It will initially be accessible on Netflix. It is assumed that the streaming giant made a deal with the Take-Two publisher. The long preview will debut at 21:00 on August 27 and will be exclusive time: also available for those who do not own a subscription, although with a slight delay. Starting from 3:00 on 28 August, the material will also become accessible on YouTube. The expected timing was respected. It refers to Rockstar Games' will to release new content for Grand Theft Auto VI during the summer, further shortening the wait for the exit fixed on November 19, just three and a half months away. The preview, which will debut first on Netflix and then on YouTube, promises something more full than the simple teaser shown today: a focus on the two protagonists, Lucia and Jason, armed and with the face covered, probably ready for a robbery. The game, undoubtedly the most anticipated title of the year, will be set to Vice City (inspired in Miami), in the state of Leonida, on a map of considerable dimensions. Some crucial points remain to be clarified, including support for 60 frames per second and the absence of the game from the physical market: the version with housing will contain only one code for downloading the digital version. Quello che mi convince poco è questa divisione tra Netflix e YouTube. Rockstar ha sempre puntato sulla diffusione virale, sull'hype creato da trailer esplicativi su YouTube. Questo approccio "esclusivo temporale" sembra quasi un tentativo di controllo dell'accessibilità, una mossa strategica per creare un senso di scarsità e spingere ulteriormente l'attesa. Il fatto che sia disponibile per chi non ha abbonamento, ma con ritardo, mi fa pensare a una strategia di marketing ben calibrata: mantenere l’attenzione alta fino all’uscita vera e propria. Non mi stupirei se la qualità dell'anteprima fosse decisamente superiore a quella che ci si aspetterebbe da un semplice teaser, data la quantità di tempo (e risorse) che Rockstar sta investendo in questo lancio. La presenza di Lucia Caminos e Jason Duval, armati e con il volto coperto, conferma le prime impressioni: una rapina su larga scala a Vice City, l'ambientazione così iconica, e già si intravedono i fondamenti della narrazione che dovrebbe guidare il gioco. L’esplicitazione di Leonida come stato in cui è ambientato il gioco apre la porta a molte speculazioni e potrebbe essere un elemento chiave per lo sviluppo della trama. Sarebbe interessante capire se la mappa sarà veramente "di dimensioni considerevoli", visto quanto è grande Vice City, dato che si tratta di una rielaborazione ispirata a Miami.
