Rockstar Launches the $400 Collector’s Edition: Plastic and "Use Items" for GTA VI

The Charm of Unconcrete Collectionism: Rockstar has confirmed that GTA VI will not be distributed on physical support for consoles, but has not lost sight of fans’ passion for “collection objects”. As a result, the company is having a premium collection set at $400, consisting mainly of useless items and plastic toys, with the potential to generate billions of dollars in the near future. The set, called "The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection", is conceived as a kind of tribute to Florida, the imaginary state where the criminal adventure of GTA VI takes place, and its mascot, Macca the Gator. The collection box includes a figure of 20 cm of the pink anthropomorphic gator, opaque black sunglasses, a snapback hat of the theme Leonida, a set of pins, a bag, a poster, and a series of various objects. Among these, there is a small magnetic mirror in the form of Macca the Gator, a cannuccia da Vice City (swizzle spoon) and a key ring shaped as a razor by Vice City. Although Rockstar did not provide details about the specific use of these objects – “it could be useful to prepare a certain type of substance”, the text suggests – it is evident that the set is aimed primarily at the most loyal fans of the GTA saga, or to anyone interested in “appointing” a tangible memory of the game, at a time when large companies try to turn digital games into limited licenses to revoke on command. Rockstar confirms that the collector’s box does not include the game itself, but it is clearly an attempt to intercept a specific market slice, that of long-time collectors or fans eager to own a physical object linked to GTA VI, especially considering that the company is already working on additional gadgets and clothing inspired by the game, available through its online store.
