IGN reveals new details about GTA VI: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos in the center of narrative

IGN had access to a 30-minute GTA 6 demo at Rockstar North, led by Rob Nelson, Head of Development and Co-Studio Head. The demo illustrated several key aspects of the game, including freedom of action and the evolution of the main character. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos can be controlled individually or in pairs, with almost unlimited flexibility outside the main narrative missions. Their relationship develops over time through interactions, shared activities and management (or less) of messages and calls, offering an optional romantic experience. A distinctive element is the "Criminal Profile", a system separated from the relationship that monitors the type of criminal the player is becoming. The NPCs present a greater physical variety and show concrete reactions based on player interactions, including clothing, vehicles and combined presence of Jason and Lucia. The police react more accurately, accurately identifying clothing, transportation and even Duval-Caminos. Options to escape capture include suit changes, car change, separation or escape from the area. Vehicle theft has also become more complex, requiring verification of vehicle status (closed, alarmed, tracked) and use of specific tools. The player can rob almost every store with targeted strategies, using codes, explosives and elaborate escape plans. The feeding system offers bonuses through food, but excessive consumption entails an increase in weight, while the gym improves strength and muscles. The safehouses were made more interactive, replicating the camps of Red Dead Redemption 2. Personal vehicles may contain spare clothes and weapons. The Ryde Me service (similar to Uber) offers a fast travel system. The missions are more open, allowing different paths and solutions. Rob Nelson underlined Rockstar's goal to encourage the player to explore the world of the game, promoting a strong replayability, while maintaining the "very GTA" essence that characterizes the series. Rockstar will continue to perfect and improve the game by taking advantage of the remaining development times.
