Risk of GTA VI: An Ex Developer Rockstar Preme on the Bottino

A former Rockstar Games animator raised concerns about a possible delay in the GTA VI release date, estimating over six months despite the preorders. The statements were issued to Indy100 through covers.com, and are based on the experience of the former employee, York, who worked for Rockstar from 2012 to 2019, dealing with animations for GTA 5. According to York, “some bugs” could lead to a postponement of the release date of the game. The main concern is the possibility that development teams will open the date of release to finish the final mission, as suggested by York that "they could postpone another six months if necessary". Despite these fears, there are no warning signs on forecast markets such as Polymarket. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, confirmed the release date scheduled for November 19, 2026 during a recent call to investors. Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming is carefully monitoring the study for any update, with the aim of releasing a new video by August 6. The situation remains pending the conference call announcement on Take-Two Interactive's financial results, scheduled for August 7.
