GTA 6: The Ultimate Edition dominates preorders – High price does not discourage fans

The premium price, set at €99.99, for the Last Edition of GTA 6 is recording a number of preorders higher than the Standard Edition at €79.99. The confirmation comes from Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, during the CNBC Squawk Pod podcast. Although Take-Two did not disclose the exact numbers of bookings, analyst estimates suggest that GTA 6 has already generated more than $ 260 million thanks to preorders. The interest in the most expensive edition is fed by the richness of the additional content offered. Among these, exclusive vehicles such as the 1967 Vapid Dominator Buggy, the Paradise Garage and the 1995 Grotti Cheetah with a retro-futuristic livery. Also included are the Dinka Enduro, a Crest kayak and modifications dedicated to the Vapid Ganado pickup. The Ultimate Edition includes access to Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie’s workshops, as well as the Classic Car Collection, allowing players to recover, restore and customize abandoned cars. Four models will only be available in this version. Extras include custom weapons for Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, activities dedicated to the PTT Youngin$ gang, numerous aesthetic elements such as outfits, hairstyles, exclusive accessories, the Stock 305 boutique and the Electric Fang Tattoo store that will offer over 50 unique tattoos. Zelnick has left open the possibility of offers during the Christmas season, without expressing concrete guarantees. Take-Two will establish the official price of the game; any promotions will be managed independently by retailers. The CEO recalls that Take-Two kept the price of Grand Theft Auto 5 for a long time, considering the huge demand for the new chapter and not expecting significant rebates. Despite the increase of 20 euros, among the first buyers the passion for Vice City seems to prevail. Non mi stupisce affatto questa frenesia per l’Ultimate Edition. La quantità di contenuti extra offerti – veicoli esclusivi come la Dominator Buggy e il Paradise Garage, le modifiche per il Ganado, persino i kayak – è qualcosa che solo Rockstar sa creare: una vera miniera d'oro per chi vuole spingere al massimo l'esperienza GTA. Quello che noto e’ un forte richiamo alla vecchia filosofia di GTA V, dove la componente collezionistica era quasi un elemento centrale del gioco stesso. E visto che il prezzo è sempre più alto, è comprensibile che i fan puntino sull'edizione completa per evitare di dover cercare ovunque i singoli contenuti in futuro. Il fatto che Zelnick parli di offerte natalizie mi fa pensare a saldi e promozioni, ma non ci conterei troppo: Take-Two ha dimostrato più volte di essere abile a mantenere prezzi elevati per lunghi periodi, soprattutto quando si tratta di un titolo del genere. La scelta di mettere in evidenza armi personalizzate per Duval e Caminos è un'altra mossa intelligente; la loro presenza nel gioco già attira l’attenzione dei fan più incisivi. Secondo me, sebbene i numeri precisi delle prenotazioni non siano stati divulgati, il fatto che l'Ultimate Edition stia andando così bene indica chiaramente un interesse diffuso per una GTA VI che promette di essere ancora più complessa e stratificata rispetto al passato.
