Rockstar Confirms the Active Development of GTA 6 – And it will not require eight more years

After years of speculation and noise, Rockstar Games officially confirmed that the development of the next chapter of the Grand Theft Auto saga is underway. The news comes as a result of the announcement of the release date of Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced & Expanded on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with its improvements and new features. The creators of Red Dead Redemption II stated, as reported on the announcement post of GTA 5 on next-gen, that the works for the new game began long and that Rockstar will share updates as soon as possible. Despite the lack of explicit mentions of the title, it is clear that the next project will be the successor of Grand Theft Auto V, an unprecedented success. The long pause in the development of new GTA chapters, which saw the last game launched in 2013, makes this confirmation particularly significant for fans who eagerly waited for a new title. Rockstar seems willing to maintain the high quality of the brand, facing potential development challenges as some insiders suggest. Although they surround voices on possible settings, including a potential reissue to Vice City and the introduction of an online multiplayer system inspired by Fortnite and other live service games, at the moment there are no official details on the title or location of the new game. Rockstar promises to share more information as soon as available.
